Pyin Oo Lwin Introduction

Pyin U Lwin or Pyin Oo Lwin, formerly Maymyo is a scenic hill town in Mandalay Division, Myanmar, located in the Shan Highland, some 67 kilometers (42 miles) east of Mandalay, and at an altitude of 1070 meters (3510 ft). Even at the height of the hot season, Pyin U Lwin is pleasantly cool and at certain times of the year it can get quite chilly. Best of all, one can enjoy the fresh air of the Shan Hills. The standard transport around the town is miniature, enclosed wagon pulled by a pony. Another highlight is the magnificent botanical garden.
