Shopping, Malaysia

Malaysia is a shopping heaven for tourists who love to shop. Shopping malls, markets and trade fairs are widely available in the country, offering an abundance of products including, but not limited to, apparel, cosmetics, household items and electrical goods.

One can also opt to shop at the stalls located by the roadsides and in the day and night - markets. The markets in Malaysia each with its own unique charm offer a variety of food, fruits and household items. The items offered in the markets are at low priced and one can also have the opportunity to bargain.

There are many duty free areas in Malaysia. There are two of the most popular ones are found in Pulau Langkawi and Labuan. These duty free zones encourage shopping and thus make Malaysia even more attractive as a place to shop.

Cameras, watches, cosmetics, perfumes and wines are sold in these duty free shops. Many have claimed that the items sold in these shops are by far the cheapest in the world.

Every year from June to September and whole of December, Malaysia goes on a shopping celebration. This carnival offers a good opportunity for tourists to go on a shopping spree.
